Amazing 1924 Passport for a man from Shanghai going to Poland.
Approx. 14.5" by 9.5" unfolded (is folded, so will be shipped to you folded).
Wonderful Chinese character letters & stamps on the outside.
Inside is written In accordance with the Presidential Mandate of April 27, 1919, where by Subjects of Non-treaty nations residing & traveling in China are under the protection of the Chinese Government, the Special Commissioner for Foreign Affairs, Shanghai, hereby issues this Passport to Mr. Nicolas Andrushkiewich a Polish subject born on May, 6, 1885, at Vilno & residing at Shanghai proceeding to Poland & request all the friendly Civil & Military Authorities, whom it may concern, to permit the holder of same to pass freely without let or hindrance & to afford him all friendly aid & protection which he may stand in need of. Given at the Bureau of Foreign Affairs, Shanghai, on the 11th day of the 10th month of the 13th year of the Republic of China 16th Oct. 1924. Valid for 6 months from the date written.
It is stamped November 5 1924 & November 23 1924. Also stamped "Seen at British Consulats - General Shanghai. Traveling to Poland Good for direct transit only through. Picture of Nicolas at bottom.
